Doug Updates

Following the huge success of the party on the hill, our community has successfully raised the money needed for Doug’s treatment.  Well done team!

There are many people and businesses to thank. We are compiling a list of company logos and names so that we can add them to our website, newsletter and Facebook. This could take a week or two to achieve. Please bear with us but in the meantime know that we very grateful for your contribution.

The school has transferred $41 563.45 to Doug. This is money from school fundraisers and the givealittle page.  We will know the final figure raised from the party, once all the bills are paid but we are confident that it will exceed $40k.

 Thank you Team Bombay

Message from Doug

I spoke with Doug yesterday.

He is overwhelmed by the fundraising response.

With a quivering voice, he asked me to make sure that everyone knew he was grateful and thankful.   Doug will start radiation treatment next week.

He will need to go every day next week as they target specific spots on his brain.  He laughed as he told me that they did not what to zap him fully in one day because he would end up with a radiating and glowing head!

Room 11 - Mrs Wichman

Mrs Wichman will be taking maternity leave at the end of the term.

This is a very exciting time as the Wichmans prepare for the arrival of their baby girl. We look forward to a good send off at the end of the term.

Mrs Burford and Ms Taylor will be co-teaching in Room 11 through to the end of the year.

Mrs Burford Monday & Tuesday/Ms Taylor Wednesday to Friday

New Road Patrol Lights

One foggy morning Dave Jacque from Digital Signs sent me an email. “Couldn’t see the patrol through the fog! I have an idea for solving this problem.”

Dave designed, built, installed and donated our new LED lights on the poles. Our KEA crossing can now be clearly seen.  Thank you Dave - we appreciate your kindness.

Thank you to Musayyab Sahib for donating two LED batons for our road patrol teams to use when visibility is poor. W e appreciate your kindness.
